Our weekly Monday & Wedsnesday night & Sunday courses have been attracting students from as far as Swindon, Cambridge and the home counties. So we came up with special weekend beginners stand up comedy courses so that students from all over the UK can attend (or maybe you are London based but cannot commit workwise to every Monday for six weeks or every Sunday for four weeks).
These two day weekend courses still see you performing at 'Up The Creek' on our monthly showcase nights alongside the Monday Night Course Students. You will have between 10 and 14 hours of training with the same tutor who takes our weekly course (Weekly course has 18 hours). You will at the end of the course have a 2/3 minute performance set which you will perform at 'Up The Creek' in front of 200 friends of yours and the other students. A new travellodge called Travelodge Greenwich has opened 400 yards from us with double rooms from £60 per night if booked in advance.

These two day weekend courses in London are a great introduction to stand up comedy and we limit the class size to only 6 people. The course runs from 11am until 4pm each day (total 10 hours) and we have designed it so that you can arrive even from the north of England by train with ease for a 11am start and leave for home on the Sunday evening in good time. Why not bring your partner to enjoy the sights of London or shop till they drop while you work hard in class! Leave the car at home as all hotels on our list are a simple bus or walk away it is a 15 minute simple bus ride to the training centre from the hotel.
In the evening there is an optional trip with our host Lara (unfortunatly the tutor will have gone by then as they will be gigging somewhere) to a nice pub in Greenwich which brews it's own range of premium lagers and bitters and then on to a quick bite at a great noodle bar before arriving at 'Up The Creek' comedy club to watch a night of the professionals at work. Please feel free to bring your partners with you for this optional activity.
The cost of the weekend is £160
We have a selection of local hotels from £40 for basic B&B to £90 for a Holiday Inn in Greenwich and 4* Charlton hotel per double room. A list will be sent with the confirmation. A Travellodge is also 400 yards from our training centre which opens in Dec 2011

2 day weekend comedy course at our farmhouse in Kent
The house is near Headcorn in Kent which has a direct rail service from London (and Headcorn has it's own airfield if you are bringing the plane). We can pick you up from the station or control tower!
This is an intensive two day course and although 4 hours shorter then our regular London courses, students are kept to 3 per course, so you get lots more individual time on and off stage.
These courses run for one weekend only each month (on the weekend before our next showcase)
Price includes accomadation for one night, two light lunches and a three course dinner on the first night with beer or wine incuded and a full English breakfast on the sunday morning (veggies and vegans catered for with ease)
There is an option to stay over the night before the course starts for an extra £25 including dinner if coming from a great distance
Day 1
Arrive by 9:45am for coffee (train leaves Charing Cross in London at 08:40)
10am - 1pm (first session)
Lunch
2pm - 5pm (second session)
5pm - 7pm (self study and material writing) each of your bedrooms has full wifi and a computer and work station
Dinner will be at 7:30pm with your host and other students. This often lasts for hours and expect lots of chat and banter

Your host - Lara with one of our tutors Harry Denford
Lara is a foodie with a passion for wine and English real Ale and Lara speaks fluent Italian and Russian and of course English. She is from Moscow and has a masters in tourism and hotel management and has visited most parts oif the world with a real love of the UK and spends her free time travelling around the UK visiting galleries and museums. She also advises Russians coming for holidays to the UK what and where they should go and stay and best part of her job is that she gets to eat out at top London restaurants and 5 star hotels as a guest of these venues most weeks.
The cost of the 2 day weekend course including accomadation and food wine and beer is £235
These book up fast so contact us for the next date, we only run these weekends once every month due to tutor commitments (ie Saturday nights are when they usually perform, so based the dates around times when the tutor can reach a comedy venue after teaching on the Saturday)
The farmhouse courses are now fully booked to Nov 2012 (it featured in a national newspaper as unusual holidays so that sort of sold all the spaces - sorry! But we have put extra weekend courses on due to demand with a hotel in Central London.
