Below is a list of new act nights and we have added new clubs as we become aware of them plus some new competitions and a list of pro clubs who will take open spots following our personal recommendation. If you know a club isn't operating anymore if you could email us at admin@londoncomedycourse.com or if you know of a new club which can be added to the list, we will make the changes.

We personally recommend the following clubs/competitions:

Bexley Comedy Club - Monthly gig in Bexley for professional  acts which has a couple of open spot slots reserved for London Comedy Course Students.   email dee@dizzysings.com   The promotor attends our showcase nights

Comedy on the Thames   This is a monthly  competition for our ex students with the prize being a £50 lunch voucher for Gordon Ramsays pub, where it is held plus a paid half spot at Up The Creek on a showcase night.  The standard is high and we select ex students personally from all that apply.   Really good night and its free to come and watch.  Also we offer one extra space to an ex student in the audience each month to perform that night.

The Tom Thumb Fun Club
This is a a monthly gig in Margate which is run by a ex London Comedy Course student and is getting excellent reviews and mention when contacting Steve that you have done the course

FUNNYBONE COMEDY CLUBS - Three SE London clubs around the Sidcup/Eltham area run by an ex student. Open spots contact sophierichardson1@hotmail.com

STAND UP AND LAUGH  Surrey based club - mixture of pro acts and open spots see www.standupandlaugh.co.uk

Cavendish Arms New Act Night  This is a weekly gig and many of our students who play here either win this weekly competition or come in the top three, so guys don't let the side down, go to win.  The gig runs Tuesdays in Stockwell.  Well worth going along and watching, free entry to watch the show and it packs out every week.

THE BEST LITTLE HA HOUSE IN BARNET On each occasion they have three comedians from the UK Comedy Circuit perform a two hour show, but they also offer three five minute slots for new comedians. lmfao@hahouse.co.uk

COMEDY CLUB CHAIN needs open spots We are always looking for acts of ALL levels so if you have someone that you want us to add to our mail out list simply email us their email address and contact number. We have some exciting projects ahead and want to give everyone more opportunities. Thank you for your continued support. ALL REPLIES MUST BE SENT TO :- jokeklub@platformvariety.com

STAND UP HASTINGS Gillian who runs the very nice Hastings Comedy Club has been booking our students as the  open spots working alongside two pro comics each month.    This is one for car drivers asyou are required to take the other acts down in return for a share of the petrol money  Email hastingscomedy@aol.com (car drivers only).

THE COMEDY PUNCH    A group of clubs in central London and one off comedy events run by an ex student who often uses ex students for open spots

Below are pro comedy nights that will accept personal recommendations from our tutors for certain students. Please do not contact them direct.

Bracknell Comedy Club   - this is the UK's longest running comedy club and is every Friday at South Hill Park Arts Centre in Bracknell, many pro comics do their previews here and even pro comics go on a waiting list to play it as it is regarded as one of the best and friendilist  comedy clubs in the country.   Katherine Webb the booker, often attends our Up The Creek showcase nights. They hardly ever have open spots on, so them giving our students a chance is a real privilage.

Barnstormers Comedy  - This comedy chain has nine pro comedy clubs in the home counties in regional theatres plus Canterbury Uni and usually do not accept open spots as a rule.   However they will accept a open spot on the nights the tutor performs for them providing he personally recommends them.

BROMLEY COMEDY CLUB this is one of a chain of pro club along with Croydon Comedy Club and a new Central London venue run by Mike Fox, a very experienced comedy promoter.   He also runs the outdoor 'Hop Farm' comedy and is connected with a number of large scale music and comedy festivals.   You will be on Mike's radar as he attends most of our showcases at Up The Creek.  He knows what it is like for acts as he also completed the course last year, so he could see the industry from the other side.  He works on personal recommendations from us and who he likes at the showcase.  Please do not ring him or email him direct for open spots as the answer he will give will always be NO!

Also please remember to register with Mirth Control who run over 50 weekly gigs around the UK see www.mirthcontrol.org.uk  and you send a email to Suzy asking to be added to their weekly availibility list they send out.
